How to find your dream home in Cyprus?

There are many ways of finding homes for sale in Cyprus, including the following:

• Newspapers and magazines, ( Homes Overseas magazine in particular carries a large amount of advertisements from estate agents in Cyprus) and property newspapers and magazines published in Cyprus, such as BuySell, which is available weekly, and the monthly magazine Property & Home Cyprus;
• Property exhibitions;
• The internet, where there are literally thousands of sites dedicated to property in Cyprus. These can be found by entering ‘Cyprus property’ in a search engine such as Google (www.google.com ) or Altavista (www.altavista.com ). Note that most of the property sites belong to or are linked to an estate agent.
• Visiting an area. Many property owners sell privately to avoid paying an agent’s commission, but be wary of this kind of transaction. If you go ahead, make sure you use an experienced local lawyer.
• Estate agents. Most property owners sell through an estate agent.
