Dress code

• I am a female moving to Doha and wanted to know how western women dress over there? Is it true that showing your arms is frowned upon?

• Hi!

  I would like to work in Qatar. I have a family member who can sponsor me to work there. I am from California and can you guys give me some thoughts, opinions, in-sights on the working condition there for female workers. What I should be expecting - good and worst scenario. Since I am carry US passport, is there a restrictions on travel and is there equal opportunities to female workers. Your comments is highly appreciated. Thanks.

  I don`t for one second believe that you were raised in the US - at least you didn`t go to school there, with such spelling and grammar.
  Much more importantly such a narrow minded view, such intolerance and ignorance is pathetic. "God sends a guest" - and you should be ashamed talking about the guests of Qatar in such a way, they bring an increase to the local economy, enable people to work and make a living for their families and most of them make an effort to respect the cultures and traditions of Qatar. How many burka-wearing women make an effort to adapt to the Western countries and their cultures when they travel? None! So you should practise some self reflection and tolerance before you go talking rubbish!

  Doha is great, and most people that are considering to move hear must first acknowledge the real reason they are relocating ($)!!

  im will be moving in doha on september 2009. i've been working dubai for 4 years & soon will be joining my boss in doha. can anyone advice me whether it is safe for a single woman to go out at night or daytime alone by taxi for shopping? i meant like we shopping free;y at night in dubai..
