Credit Card - EC Card or Maestro

   If you get an account in Germany you will nearly always get an EC Card or maestro card with your current account. To get a credit card you will have to apply for one. 
 Most shops prefer EC cards because they are cheaper for them (no fees to pay) You will not need a credit card in Germany as you may need in the US.
 If you want to buy goods over the internet, book flights and rental cars, you would need a credit card; also if you want to pay a train ticket on board of a train.
 If you use your card to pay in supermarkets etc. you will not need a credit card, just use your current account EC card.Hoppentopp 03 Jan 2009, 03:12 - Report
